The ideal Gap year Travel Insurance policy for a 12 month period is the Backpacker Travel Insurance Policy. The Backpacker Travel Insurance Policy offers slightly higher levels of all standard types of cover (such as medical and emergency assistance) when compared to the Essentials policy. In addition to the 'Essential' levels of cover, the Backpacker Policy covers Baggage and Personal Effects (including valuables, travel documents and personal money), missed departure cover and travel delay cover.
